Outgrowing sympathy

I am a Republican, though I honestly don't mind the Democratic win. By this time, I'm getting very sick of the stupid bickering going on after the ordeal. And am I the only one? Constantly reusing old stereotypes (such as "democrats are tree-hugging hippies" or "republicans are racist") used to be funny. However, now I'm tired of explaining that - NO - not all Conservatives are against gays, blacks, the elderly, nor other minorities. I would take the same curtesies when addressing any Liberal. Why is it such a contest? Politics are fun, people. Lighten up.
       Another peeve of mine: I am sorry, but you can't categorize the people you don't like as a single political group. Just because the more common qualities don't appeal to you doesn't mean those qualities are shared by every member of the group.
       I think you know what I mean.
       I digress (what a great word). I decided to jump into websites again so that I could rant about these things. I've missed it.
